We are everyday Americans who have been through massive personal and professional pain, and come out on top.
We cannot understand precisely what your pain and challenges are, but our own lives have taught us how to overcome enormous adversity. And the areas we have not personally experienced, we have learned extensively about through interviewing over 150 amazing Americans on our podcast.
Dave Brown has learned through working with hundreds of clients in business, and Barb Allen has learned through helping hundreds of veterans and military community members navigate their own challenges as a professional Veterans Advocate.
Dave was 3 years old when his father killed himself. He loves his mom, but always struggled without a father. In his 30’s, he filed bankruptcy, his marriage ended, and he was then a single father of 2. He learned how to balance it all while finding a mentor, learning a business, coaching hundreds of clients, and working with hundreds more clients in his own real estate investment company.
Barb was a 32 year old wife and mother of 4 young boys when her husband deployed to Iraq. Ten days later her husband was murdered by a fellow soldier, who was acquitted after a 3 1’2 year court martial process in one of the most notorious cases in the United States Military. Barb earned her masters in criminal justice, wrote a book about the case, and built a network of survivors while raising her kids through repeated trauma – including a relationship packed with emotional, financial, and other abuse. It took her 10 years to find her footing and reclaim her own life.
These experiences taught us about victimization vs personal accountability. We felt the impact of people who stepped forward to mentor and support us, and we have paid that forward. We have learned how to address the challenges and inequalities in life in a positive, meaningful manner and we have learned the power of creating and building relationships based on adding value to each other. We have accepted there will never be an end to all Evil, but that the human spirit has the power to overcome it.
Last but not least, we learned that this country is overflowing with incredible people. We recognize that America remains a country worthy of defending from both foreign enemies trying to destroy us, and the enemies who live right here alongside us. We realize that We, the People, must want to work toward all people flourishing – even people we disagree with or are different from.
And that is just a snapshot of what our lives have taught us.
Today, together, we have built American Snippets. We have a powerful and passionate network across this country, of people who are genuine heroes in the military and law enforcement worlds, selfless citizens who dedicate their lives to extraordinary work helping others, survivors of unspeakable trauma, massively successful and influential leaders in business, entrepreneurship, and resilience, athletes, authors, and more. That network is opened up for our Members in the Great American Syndicate.
Each of our guests has overcome various levels of hardships, tragedies, and challenges, from depression, grief, death-defying injuries, trauma, financial ruin, betrayals, fleeing communist and terrorist regimes, etc. Many of these guests will join us for live Q&A’s within the community.
